San Cristobal

We went up to the top of San Cristobal on a P-day not too long ago. We rode the tram or what they call Funicular to the top and walked around. The views of Santiago below were beautiful. The statue of the Virgin Mary is seen from our apartment window so we enjoyed being up close to the statue. There's a Catholic church at the top as well as a small sanctuary of the Virgin, lots of food places and souvinirs to purchase. We even saw a llama at the bottom of the hill where we could stand next to and have a picture taken with it.

A look down on the ride up.

The Virgin Mary at the top of the hill.

Pictures of scenes inside the chapel and small sanctuary of the Virgin Mary.

We passed these as we walked to the top of the hill.

It was a bit hazy from the top but still very spectacular to see Santiago below.

Our apt is the one on the right of the 3 buildings close together at the bottom of the hill.

We've been to the top of the Costanera building and here's a view of it from the top of the hill. It's the                                                     tallest building in South America.

Here's the cute llama at the bottom of the hill.
