Sky Costanera

We went up to the top of the highest building in South America at La Costanera in Santiago. It's outside our mission but seniors are allowed to go anywhere in the Santiago area without permission. We loved seeing the view of the city below us! We could see the spire on the Santiago Temple, saw an entrance to a tunnel we've gone through, saw the hill where we live on the other side, and saw another tunnel with a bus going through (an opening). We went with the other 2 senior couples. The mission president and his wife were going to go with us but had things come up that they had to deal with. Maybe another time.

Here are a few photos of our apartment. We're getting settled and that's a great feeling!!! Our washer and dryer sit outside on one of the balconies. We're just soooooo grateful to have a dryer this mission. That's a first for us!

Back in Chile!

A busy month of May!

May was a busy month with George and Margaret Talbot coming up from the mission office in Antofagasta for a few days where we traveled taking them to some of the beautiful parts of this area. Two youth received their mission calls, Gabriel Orellana and Alexandra Perez got married. What a special month!

Our trip to the Volcano Isluga National Park

 Perhaps we got carried away taking pictures but we simply couldn't stop! Mountains with snow on them, hillsides covered with plants giving off a yellowish color, llamas galore, even a flamingo or two! Then there were the volcanoes spewing out their steam and smoke! Enjoy our drive with us!

This picture may seem strange but it's a drainage system that ran along the side of the road for miles.

           I loved the way these tiny villages built their fences out of rocks. They were everywhere!!

            Can you imagine how old this church is? It certainly has been there for a long, long time.
